- Today enjoy a guided tour of this magnificent, imperial city. Visit Hofburg Palace, once the seat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and view the Belvedere palace, Prater Amusement Park, the UN Building, St. Stephen’s Cathedrale, the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, Vienna’s Stephansdom is the national emblem of Austria, it attracts over million visitors every year. And rightfully so – at over 800 years old, it is a home to some of the country’s most interesting historical and architectural sights of the city’s history. - Today is reserved for the Imperial Palace of Schonbrunn. The 1,441-room Rococo palace is one of the most important architectural, cultural, and historic monuments in the country. Enjoy visiting its adjacent buildings and vast and sculptured gardens. The remainder of your afternoon is free in Vienna. This evening, enjoy dinner in a traditional Heuriger restaurant in Grinzing. - This morning depart on a half-day excursion to the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava. For centuries, this city has been famous for its charm and beauty. The beautifully restored Old Town with its winding lanes and medieval courtyards is nestled between the steep Castle Hill and the Danube River. On a guided walking tour, explore historic, lively pedestrian streets of this charming city where local street vendors offer regional gifts. Return to Vienna. Enjoy a tour of the Museum of Applied Arts – The MAK Museum – Textile and carpet collection. The MAK’s Textile and Carpet Collection is one of the most comprehensive and valuable of its kind. The Collection unites objects from Late Antiquity until today, from Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. This evening enjoy exploring the restaurants & pubs. Overnight in Vienna. (B)
- After checking out of your hotel you will travel to Brno. Upon arrival enjoy a guided city tour. Visit Ossuary of St. James Church. After Paris, Brno has the second-largest ossuary in Europe. The number of people buried here is estimated to exceed 50,000. Next stop is a visit to the Museum of Romani Culture. From the beginning, the museum tried to build up collection and history of the Roma. Today it manages the collection of traditional crafts and professions, types of dwellings, interior furnishing, clothing and jewelry, fine arts, written material, posters and invitations, audio, photo, and video documentation, libraires, echoes of Roma culture in majority culture and self-documentation of the Museum. Also, visit Labyrinth under the Cabbage Vegetable Market, a mysterious underground maze through the oldest cellar spaces of Brno. This labyrinth of passages and cellars, located up to 8 meters below the cobbles of one of Brno’s most enchanting squares, will lead you down into the Middle Ages, when cellars were used instead of refrigerators. - This morning travel to Olesnice where you enjoy an Indigo Dyeing Workshop. You can find blueprint (a historical resist-dyeing method for textiles) among the treasures of the UNESCO intangible heritage list since 2018. The blueprint in Olešnice has been maintained by the Danzinger family for over two centuries. In the picturesque house with a workshop, you can see the molds, peek under the covers of printing technology and learn a lot about family and local traditions. You probably won't be able to resist buying a souvenir and some products with blueprint in the shop. Afterwards, enjoy some time for lunch (oyo) in the area. Then return to Brno and visit the Museum of Applied Arts. The Renaissance Revival Museum of Applied Arts in Brno was built in the 19th century and today houses the Moravian Gallery in Brno and the new concept Art Design Fashion. - Both Friday & Saturday you are free to enjoy the Brno Patchwork Meeting. In the late afternoon transfer back to the hotel. The international textile exhibition Brno Patchwork Meeting is the largest show of combined textile techniques not only in our country, but also in Central and Eastern Europe. Until 2019, it took place in Prague and after a long pause, it continues from 2022 at the Brno Exhibition Center. Leading authors of the artistic wall quilt regularly take part in the exhibition. Thanks to the high number of exhibits and attendance of 5,000 people, the exhibition ranks 4th in Europe, and its level is rising year by year.
- On an area of 6,000 square meters, more than 900 collections of mostly wall quilts (modern tapestries) from 400 authors from all over the world and a selection of original works from the Czech Republic are regularly presented. One third of the area is occupied by specialized stores, which offer a wide selection of fabrics, aids, textile accessories, sewing machines, lighting, beads, decorations and colors for textiles, a range of knitting yarns and designer clothes. - After check-out you leave Brno traveling to Prague, via Vamberk, well known for its Lace production dating from 17th Century. In the mid-17th Century, Magdalena Grambová, the owner of a local estate in Vamberk, introduced Belgian lace patterns and a new technique of bobbin lace making using a lace cushion or pillow. Vamberk became a European center of lacemaking. You will visit a Lace Museum. Free time for lunch (oyo) before continuing to Prague. Enjoy dinner in your hotel. Overnight in Prague. (B/D)
- Today enjoy a guided tour of Prague. Built on seven hills, and both banks of Vltava River, then cross the Charles Bridge. One of the highlights includes spectacular views over the river Vltava and the structure's superb Gothic gates. Viewing Charles Bridge at night is also highly recommended and an added benefit is the smaller crowds, particularly after the spectacular sunset. See Wenceslas Square and Strahov stadium, the Town Hall, and the world-famous Astronomical Clock. Visit the world-famous Prague Castle. Prague Castle is a historical building complex, founded in 880 as a seat of power for the Bohemian Kings. Even today, it is still used as the official seat of the president of the Czech Republic. The largest castle complex in the world, this vast fortress requires considerable time to tour, but it's time well spent (particularly rewarding are the excellent views over the Vltava River with the old town and its many beautiful spires in the background). - This morning enjoy the Rückl Bohemian Glass Tour. The Ruckl Family glasswork is renowned for top quality cut crystal since 1846. However, glass-melting tradition and time-tested glassmaking techniques have been handed down in this family from generation to generation for some three hundred years. Break for lunch (oyo). Our next destination is Pilsner Urquell Brewery Tour. They brewed the first pilsner type lager in the world with its characteristic full taste and limpid golden color in 1842. It has been a model beer for more than 80% of existing beer brands so far. It owes its uniqueness to high quality ingredients and a unique brewing procedure. Get to know the story of the legend born in 1842. Return to the hotel where your evening is free to explore the restaurants and pubs. Overnight in Prague. (B)
- This morning you will visit the Museum of Decorative Art located in Prague in the building built in 1885. Afterwards, visit the Museum of Communism, located at V Celnici 4 in Prague, is a museum dedicated to presenting an account of the post–World War II Communist regime in Czechoslovakia in general and Prague in particular. The Museum of Communism offers an immersive look at life behind the Iron Curtain. Continue to visit quilt stores in Prague, Latky Mraz (seven shops in Prague).
