Celtic Quilt Journeys, LLC is a US based company owned by Debbi Cagney (Houston, TX USA). Debbi was previously the owner and founder of Celtic Quilt Tours, with a business parter. After ten years, the company had grown so much that we decided to close the company to pursue other ventures.
Celtic Quilt Journeys, LLC offers worldwide quilting and textile experiences. In addition to visits to local quilt shops and textile venues, you will visit sites rich in history, ancient ruins, modern marvels, and experience the best of what each country has to offer.
We are very excited about the team of caring and dedicated Tour Hosts we've assembled who will work to make your travel fun and enjoyable.
Looking to continue working with top travel industry experts, Celtic Quilt Journeys will continue working with Journeys Connect and their affiliates. Journeys Connect has over 30 years' experience in the travel industry. Debbi has worked closely with Journeys Connect for over 10 years and has planned and coordinated tours with them throughout Ireland, Scotland, France, Iceland, Wales, England, and Japan.

Debbi has been planning and hosting quilt and textile tours for over ten years to worldwide destinations including, multiple tours to Ireland, Scotland, France, Canada, Iceland, Wales, England, Japan and Newfoundland. Not to mention hosting quilting friends and travelers attending the Houston International Quilt Festival and Market (local for Debbi). Over the years, Debbi has always put the travelers comfort and safety first. One rule Debbi has always adhered to is only bring a group of travelers to a country that she has visited. In 2025 Celtic Quilt Journeys brough their first tour to Austria, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic - new favorite destinations of Debbi’s after a preview visit in 2024. Debbi wants to thank y’all for traveling with her and hopes that your on-going Journey is filled with love, adventure and travel! |

After retiring from a career as a psychologist Jennifer fulfilled her lifelong dream of learning how to quilt. Falling in love with her new passion and working in a quilt store in Kansas for six years, making many shop samples and designing three of her own quilt patterns for the store. While scrolling through Facebook Jennifer found her first quilt tour travel opportunity with Debbi. Scotland, Iceland, Wales, England, Ireland, and Newfoundland have led to the opportunity of assisting Debbi on her adventure to Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Jennifer is a great addition to the team. Friendly and outgoing, Jennifer looks forward to meeting new people who share her passion for crafting and travel. Not to mention making more memories with travelers she met on prior tours she now calls friends. |

Award-winning author Patience Griffin has been writing and sewing her whole life but didn’t discover her love of quilting until her late thirties. She decided the best way to acquire her first quilt was to make one for herself. At nearly the same time, she started commuting three and half hours a day for her dream engineering job. To pass the time on the long drive, she got hooked on audiobooks—especially books with love stories.
Within a couple of years, she was writing stories of her own. It was no surprise to her family and friends when she combined her love of quilting, her small town roots, and her obsession with Scottish romances into novels. She has gained some recognition with her September 11th Story Quilt which has toured the country as the property of the Pentagon. Patience’s first book, To Scotland with Love, received a Publishers Weekly *starred reviewed, won the New England Readers’ Choice award and Golden Quill for best first book and was also a double RITA® finalist. She loves to write about home, heart, and the community of quilters. She has teamed up with Riley Blake Designs™ for an extensive line of fabrics to accompany her novels. |
"Everyone was helpful, friendly, professional, knowledgeable and etc.
I appreciate that for Debbi and Kim this is a labor of love and not just labor.
It really showed through in the thoughtfulness and everything Debbi did for us.
And it may be Tony's job, but you can tell that he really enjoys it and enjoys being excellent at what he does.
He made me fall in love with Ireland and appreciate the complex layers of history."
